Whether you’re into music that is gritty and artistically sound, or are just seeking a soundtrack for dancing commando in slow motion, The Corner delivers. In contrast to the raw simplicity typical to local indie rock, this Toronto-based band of four curates carefully produced, multidimensional compositions reminiscent of early Radiohead.
Drawing from an unusually diverse list of influences including U2, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, The Cure, Bowie, and Soundgarden, members Mark Anderson (Guitars), Laurie Wilson (Bass), Calvin Castellino (Drums), and Matthew Oh (Keys, Vocals) have pulled together a clean yet intricately layered sound that emphasizes qualities of several subgenres like grunge, alternative, pop, and ambient rock, satisfying a wide range of musical tastes.
